Electrical Outlets

If you were to walk into my building you would notice that we have put in the electrical outlet proctors. Seeing this you would think one of two things:
  1.  The school is thinking proactively and thought to cover the outlets
  2. Why are there electrical covers on the outlet
I can tell you that the administrators in my building were not thinking proactively in thinking to protect students.  To be honest putting in electrical outlet covers isn’t my first thought, and I’m the one who has the kids that would stick stuff in them.
Though I can tell you why there are electrical covers in my building, and yes one of my students can take the credit for it.
I had one of my students with me, as she was taking a chill. I needed to run to the office to ask them something. So G came with me. While in the office, G decided to sit on the floor next to me. I didn’t notice that there was a small paperclip on the floor. She got it, untwisted it and stuck it in the electrical socket. Next thing I know I hear her scream. Yep G had electrocuted herself with a paperclip. Luckily it wasn’t bad. I felt absolutely horrible.
Almost a year later I asked her to plug something into a strip for me, forgetting the last time. Her response: Ms. D I’m not touching that. You know what happened to me the last time I did that. Whoops yeah. Sorry G!
